The food chain is a series of organisms in the event of eating and being eaten. Example: rice eaten by rats, snakes eat rats, eagles eat snakes, hawks described by decomposers.
Of the food chain, it seems the role of an organism in a habitat (habitat), namely:
1 as a manufacturer or producer of rice, which is an organism that makes its own food through photosynthesis events, covering all greenery.
2,3,4 (rats, snakes, eagles) as consumers or users, are organisms that use or to use the results of the direct manufacturer, covering all animals.
5 decomposers, fungus and bacteria.
These organisms obtain their food by way of overhauling the remains of living things.

In a food chain, there is:
Energy flow, ie the movement of energy, starting from the sun to the plants (producers) then to the consumer and then move to the most degrading and no energy is lost to the environment.

Recycled material. The material is in (in the air, soil, water) will go into the living body (producers and consumers) in the form of nutrients. When a plant or animal dies, there will be a result of the decomposition and breakdown will return to the environment (soil, water, and air), then nutrients will be used again by producers and consumers to support all the activities of life.
This incident is an example of recycled material.
Food webs, which are collections of interconnected food chains.
Food pyramid, describing the relationship the number of individuals in each level of the food.
