Vertebrate animals

The main characteristic of vertebrate animals is to have a backbone. Divided into five classes, namely:a. Pisces (fish)Characteristics:- Live in water- Breathe with gills- The surface of the body is covered by scales- The tool motion in the form of fins- Body temperature changes, the temperature of the environment is also known as the cold-blooded animals (poikiloterm)- Have a lateral line, serves on the changes of water pressure.Pisces is divided into 2 groups, namely advertising cartilaginous (chondrichtyes) eg stingrays and sharks and bony fishes true (Osteichthyes) such as goldfish and carp.
b. Amphibians (the frog)Characteristics:- The cycle of life experience living in two worlds before adult life in the water, as an adult living on land- The surface of the body soft, smooth, always wet, because the resulting mucus- Breathe with lungs, and skin and- Tools in the form of foot motion- Including the cold-blooded animals.Example: frog, Kuhl (frog).
c. Reptiles (reptiles)Characteristics:- Generally live on land- Breathe with lungs- The surface of the body covered by a shell of substance horn- Tools in the form of leg movement- Including the cold-blooded animals- Generally suffer from skin turnover.Examples: alligators, turtles, snakes, and lizards.
d. Aves (birds)Characteristics:- Life on land- Breathe with lungs, which can fly for help with air sac- His body covered by fur- The tool motion in the form of the legs and wings although there is a group of birds whose wings have disappeared- The temperature of the body remains, his body was warm when held so-called warm-blooded animals as well (homoiterm).Example: pigeons, chickens, storks, cassowary, and the ostrich.
e. Mammals (mammals)Characteristics:- Breathe with lungs- Live on land, but there is also live in water- His body covered by hair- Breastfeed- The tool motion in the form of foot, leg and hand- Fixed body temperature (warm-blooded animals).Example: rabbits, whales, orangutans, humans and kangaroos.
